Explore the countryside with East Devon education rangers

The East Devon Countryside Team Education Rangers are about to start a busy summer spent outdoors.

Over the summer term the rangers will be running more than 50 visits to East Devon District Council's nature reserves, beaches and other sites across the area, and over 30 of these visits are to EDDC’s Seaton Wetlands site. The Education Rangers will also be involved with the busy Countryside events programme run for local residents and tourists across East Devon.

More choice for Devon’s sun-seekers

Thomson and First Choice are today announcing increased capacity at Exeter airport for their summer 2017 flying programme.

This includes new 10 and 11 night durations to Lanzarote as well as an additional seasonal flight to Tenerife which gives greater choice and flexibility to holidaymakers flying from the South West.

Exeter Airport gears up for busy Christmas

As the school holidays start and the Christmas holidays get underway Exeter Airport is expecting to deal with over 20,000 passengers over the two week festive period.

Already three flights have taken hundreds of excited children to Lapland on excursions that involved tobogganing, snowmobile and reindeer sleigh rides plus of course a meeting with ‘Santa'. The festive season is almost upon us, and office workers around the South West may face some disappointment in the workplace, as 28% of people are doubtful they’ll be able to get the time off work they need to enjoy the Christmas holidays.

Exeter Airport has been voted the best in class at this year’s Travel Agents Choice Awards which were entirely nominated by and voted for by UK travel agents and designed to identify and acknowledge the industry’s favourites.

The UK travel retailers, who cast 1,000 votes for 42 categories, gave Exeter Airport top marks in the UK domestic airport category.
