Summer Holiday Getaway

The school holidays are about to trigger the start of the busy summer getaway period for Exeter Airport and up to 25,000 passengers will be travelling through the terminal in the next seven days.

The week will see 12,500 passengers using the airport on variety of routes from the Isles of Scilly to as far away as Sharm el Sheikh.

South West flights from Exeter to St. Marys have increased to five a day and over the summer 11,000 passengers will use the service.

New Devon venture offers holiday breaks with a literary twist

The Reading Room Devon is running a series of one- and two-day courses that look into Devon's literary links. These reading retreats can also involve staying overnight at Greenbank, a farmhouse B&B overlooking Chagford on Dartmoor.

Exeter Airport is preparing to handle over 15 thousand inbound and outbound passengers over the Bank Holiday weekend. From Friday to Monday Exeter’s passengers will be leaving on flights operated by Thomson, Thomas Cook, Newmarket Holidays, Skybus, Exeter-based airline Flybe and specialist operators Tangney Tours, Newmarket Holidays and Fly Niki. £1.3 million loss for Flybe, but company still confident

Exeter-based Flybe this morning announced a £1.3 million loss in profits in its interim financial report.

The airline blames high fuel costs for the drop, which it says it couldn't pass on to its customers and is campaigning to reduce tax for domestic flights.
