‘Donkeys in the Park’ is the child-friendly family festival not to be missed this summer. Held on Saturday 16 June at The Donkey Sanctuary’s beautiful site overlooking the sea near Sidmouth, it’s the chance to spend the day with family and friends and immerse yourself in a vibrant scene of live music, theatrical performances, family films and feel-good activities.
A cracking line-up of local musicians and bands provide the soundtrack for the day, ranging from acoustic vibes to sweet summer sounds with some banging beats thrown in for good measure. To kick-back and relax, visitors...
A taste of London comes to Exmouth next week, as the first in a series of theatre shows is streamed live from the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
A performance of the well-known ballet Swan Lake, is the first in a season of events aimed at making the Queen’s Drive Space area somewhere for all generations to enjoy.
Last month saw the opening of the Jurassic-themed play park, and food and drink village, and this screening of Swan Lake (which is free, with no booking required) is the first to be shown in the brand new events space, which sits just behind the food and drink...
AS if running a busy beef and arable farm, as well as one of Exeter’s only butcher’s shops, wasn’t enough, local farmers Neil and Sally Grigg are soon to be opening their gates to the public, as part of the national Open Farm Sunday scheme.
The Griggs, who run Burrow Farm in Broadclyst, near Exeter, have taken part in Open Farm Sunday before, and say that in the past it proved to be a great way to give people a fun, free day out in a location that wouldn’t normally be accessible to them.
‘So many drive past our farm gates and see our cows grazing in the fields, but...
Teignbridge has a new campaign to help curb fly-tipping and is telling people to ‘check who you pay to take it away’.
Paying someone can seem like the easiest and quickest way to get rid of rubbish, but if you’re not checking out the legitimacy of who takes it away, there’s a big chance it’ll be fly-tipped, and you’re the one who could be fined.
Fly tipping is illegal. It’s dangerous, unsightly and harmful to the environment and affects the quality of life for many residents. In 2016/2017 Teignbridge collected around 500 tonnes of fly-tipped rubbish from 939 incidents...

A cheque for £700 has been presented to the Devon Memory Café Consortium (DMCC) by Teignbridge District Council’s former Chairman, Councillor Timothy Golder.
Continuing an annual tradition passed on by each Teignbridge Chairman, money raised by the Chairman’s Charity has come from various events, including a raffle at Teignbridge’s Sports and Community Awards which raised £411 and Teignbridge’s civic service held earlier this year at St John’s Church in Bishopsteignton.
Memory Cafes offer practical and emotional support, information, guidance and the offer of friendship to...
The Spacex board and staff have taken the difficult decision to close the organisation. This concludes four decades of evolving visual arts provision in Exeter, which we hope has provided an open and convivial space for artists to exhibit and experiment.
To mark the closure of the organization and as a provocation to the visual arts sector, Spacex has produced a limited edition artwork/tea towel (pictured above) and accompanying text by Rosalie Schweiker. This has been posted out to a small selection of arts organizations and curators across the UK. To read more about the tea towel...
