A Devon-based project dedicated to conserving one of the county's most endangered animals is now appealing for volunteers to help it in its vital work.
Find out about the bats on your doorstep! This spring and summer, people across Devon can take part in a major scientific bat survey run by the Devon Greater Horseshoe Bat Project.
The survey allows volunteers to borrow a detector from one of 20 monitoring centres dotted around the county, to place in a selected 1km grid square for 3 nights.

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision involving a fuel tanker near Honiton.
At around 7:15am on Sunday 19th March, a serious collision took place between a blue Peugeot 206 and a 44-tonne fuel tanker on Windgate Hill, Honiton.
A third vehicle, a black Vauxhall Corsa was following directly behind the Peugeot 206 and was involved in a secondary collision.
The 18-year-old female driver of the blue Peugeot sustained serious, life changing arm injuries and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, where she remains following surgery.
The Mallison footbridge at Exeter Quay has re-opened to pedestrians and cyclists following temporary repairs to the structure.
Exeter City Council was forced to close the bridge earlier in the month because of safety concerns after an inspection revealed some rotten timbers.
The bridge carries pedestrians and cyclists over a leat beside the River Exe, from nearby Exeter Antiques Centre on the Quay to Samuel Jones Smoke & Ale House on the opposite bank.

Cofton Country Holidays, the multi award-winning holiday park near Dawlish, South Devon, has received official confirmation that it will receive one of the highest accolades in the world of camping and caravanning at the AA’s Caravan and Camping Awards on 20th March.
