Plans for a new footbridge in Sidmouth to replace Alma Bridge have been drawn up by Devon County Council.
The County Council will be presenting its designs for a 22-metre span bridge to Sidmouth Town Council on Monday 6 March as it looks to conduct initial consultations with stakeholders, including East Devon District Council, South West Water and Environment Agency. The authority will also be carrying out investigation work early next month, with geotechnical inspections of the east cliffs being conducted at the potential location for the bridge. Essential maintenance work is due to start today (Tuesday 28 February) on traffic signals at two junctions in Exeter.
Traffic signals, poles and electrics at the junction of Pinhoe Road, Hamlin Lane and Beacon Lane, and the junction of Queen Street and Paul Street are being replaced as part of a Devon County Council scheme to upgrade signals which have reached the end of their serviceable life.

FOLK music charity Traditional Arts Support in the Community (TASC) has received £24,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to carry out research into the traditional step dancing of Dartmoor.
The charity has been devising and delivering projects since 1994 but this is its first partnership outside Wales.

Police were called at around 9.40pm on Thursday 23rd of February with reports of an altercation between Oxford Road and York Road, near Sidwell Street in Exeter.

Devon County Council has joined forces with local and regional authorities across six other European countries on a new four year research project, aimed at reducing the amount of food waste in the supply chain.
The project, called ECOWASTE4FOOD, is funded by the Interreg Europe programme and includes authorities from France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Finland and Poland.
