The Piano and Me: Jazz giant in rare one man show

A Devon-wide organisation is presenting its third event this Winter, to usher in the coming of spring. Anyone with a love of jazz will find a rich tapestry of music, woven by a master of the genre.

The Piano and Me will feature Mike Westbrook and is being produced by the Devonshire Association’s Music and Folklore Section (DAMFS) which is a new organisation amalgamating two established groups. Independent family brewer, Hall & Woodhouse, is offering a complimentary three-course meal for locals who will be spending Christmas alone this year. Across its estate of pubs, over 50 managed houses from Devon to Hertfordshire are taking part in the ‘Community Christmas Table’ initiative.

It’s Beginning To Look Like Topsham’s Best for Christmas!

Love Topsham has unveiled plans for the town’s Christmas celebrations - and once again they’re set to be amongst the best in the south west.

Festivities start on November 24 with the Christmas Lights Switch On at the town’s Matthews Hall. From 4.30pm there will be a samba band in illuminated festive outfits plus unique large-scale puppetry to entertain crowds.

Taylor Wimpey has continued its support for people with life-limiting diseases and their families by donating the main raffle prize for a musical fundraiser in Topsham.

The housebuilder lent a hand to Topsham Friends of Hospiscare , giving a £50 cash prize for the fundraising group’s Jazz in the Garden event on 2nd July.

Now in its 11th year, Jazz in the Garden is a major event on the Topsham calendar and is always a sell-out. The event raises much-needed funds for Hospiscare, which provides end of life care for 2,500 patients and families at home or in its specialist...

Hoe! Hoe! Topsham’s Secret Gardens are about to be revealed

Final preparations are in hand for one of the events of the year in Topsham - the return of the town’s Secret Gardens event, back for the first time since 2018.

It takes place on June 11 between 1pm and 6pm.

Visitors and residents will have the unique opportunity to visit 14 ‘hidden gem’ gardens dotted around the estuary town. They are normally kept strictly private but for this event some have seen months of preparation ahead of the big day, when over 1,000 people are expected to tour the town.
