Topsham’s residents and visitors don’t have to wait until December 25 to enjoy a wonderful day - there are plenty of them happening in the next few weeks as the beautiful estuary town becomes a Christmas haven for all the family.

The festivities begin at 5pm on Friday November 15 when the town’s lights - funded by contributions from the local community and Devon County Council - are switched on by special guests in a magical ceremony at the town’s Matthews Hall.

One of the area’s liveliest towns is set to show exactly why it’s such a great community in a special weekend next month.

Topsham, the estuary town on the edge of Exeter, is holding their first Join The Club! Long Weekend with events on September 5th, 7th and 8th.

The picturesque estuary town of Topsham, just four miles from Exeter, will be celebrating the end of winter with Spring Forward Saturdayon the 30th March. Just before the clocks go forward to welcome warmer days the town will be buzzing with a fair-like atmosphere, with the majority of shops, cafés and restaurants taking part, and live music around the town.

The event is in its second year and is set to be a fabulous, vibrant day, full of offers from local businesses, Spring treats, children’s activities and foot-tapping sounds from talented local musicians.

Topsham gas works to begin

Wales & West Utilities is kicking off the new year with a gas pipe investment scheme in the Bridge Hill area of Topsham.

The £105,000 investment work, which begins next week (21 January), will involve upgrading 70 metres of old metal gas pipes to new plastic ones and will help keep the gas flowing to homes and businesses in the area so that people are kept safe and warm for generations to come.

Wales & West Utilities has worked closely with Devon County Council and it has been agreed that 2-way traffic lights will be in place throughout the seven-week scheme....

Topsham celebrates biggest Christmas shopping night to date

On Tuesday 4th December, the Topsham Christmas Shopping Night comes to the town with a spectrum of independent shops including an evening market, festive entertainment, special offers, promotions and in-store activity.

Free to attend, shoppers can warm up with a host of hot dishes and drinks, enjoy an array of live festive music and Christmas goodies and gifts to buy, all in a special ambience on the Christmas lit High Street and Fore Street, leading down to Topsham Quay.

A local shop in Topsham, near Exeter, which has prevented the use of over 11,000 single use plastics by providing an opportunity for customers to shop packaging free since it opened in March, is on the shortlist of retailers in the running to be named Britain’s Best Small Shop of 2018.

Nourish of Topsham is the first zero waste store in Exeter, stocking innovative products from small companies that help people reduce the amount of single use plastic that they need whilst promoting other small businesses. Burrington Estates launches first show home at flagship development in Topsham

Award-winning property developer, Burrington Estates New Homes, are celebrating the launch of their latest show home at their flagship development, EXIII, Topsham.

At a VIP event, the house builder welcomed current and early bird purchasers to view the home before the doors were opened to the public. Showcasing the best the region has to offer, the developer invited No.3, a newly opened coffee and wine bar in Topsham, to a selection of canapes for visitors to enjoy. The PBFA Exeter Book Fair returns to Topsham at Matthew's Hall this Sunday, August 5th

The Exeter Book Fair, in the historic seaport of Topsham, is now the only dedicated book fair in Devon. This is one of three events run by the PBFA at Matthews Hall offering a wide selection of antiquarian, rare and second-hand books and ephemera. Featuring 15 independent booksellers, there will be something to appeal to all tastes and interests!

Topsham Rugby Club car park gets a makeover thanks to local property developer

A much-used community car park at Topsham Rugby Club has been renovated thanks to local, award-winning property developer, Burrington Estates New Homes.

Topsham Rugby Club is a popular activity centre for the local community and the car park had been in need of repair for some years. Riddled with potholes and loose tarmac, the car park had begun to be a danger to users. Burrington Estates New Homes, who are currently working on their latest new homes site at EXIII, Topsham, stepped in to pave the way for the new car park and renovate it for the community.
