Centuries of Devon history celebrated by new heritage boards and maritime trail

Topsham’s history takes centre stage with the unveiling of new heritage boards and a Maritime Trail—an exciting project that’s earned the support of the Earl of Devon.

The aim of the new heritage information boards and trail is to connect visitors and residents with the town’s extraordinary past.

Through the project led by Topsham Museum, the trail and boards tell a story from Roman occupation, through Atlantic fishing ventures and a thriving wool trade, and across centuries of maritime shipbuilding and commerce.

The new installations offer engaging insights...
