Wine tasting enthusiasts are set enjoy this year’s Open Day at Pebblebed Vineyard, Topsham in aid of Hospiscare.

Pebblebed Vineyard owner Geoff Bowen will offer hourly tours throughout Sunday 8 September to members of the public, with the chance to taste the Devonshire grape at its best. Visitors taking the tasting tour will uncover the processes involved in wine-making, and reap fruitful rewards in the tasting session afterwards!

Home is where the art is for Sapphire Living

Sapphire Living Space invited special guests to the launch of Wave, an art exhibition by Christine Allison.

The luxury kitchen and bathroom showroom often stages events in its amazing space, opposite Dart's Farm near Topsham.

Christine's artwork is going to be at the Sapphire Living Space showroom until September 23rd.

Co-owner Mark Newbery said: "Everyone is welcome to come along, enjoy Christine's work and browse around the showroon."

Devon Photographer Meia Allegranza launches exhibition in Topsham

Topsham-based commercial photographer and published poet, Meia Allegranza, is launching a Poetography Exhibition on 1 August 2013 in Topsham’s The Café.

The exhibition, called “Poetography for the All Generations”, will showcase Meia’s two passions, photography and poetry, as she brings together 14 of her favourite Photos and poems.

The exhibition, which will be free to attend, will run from 1-31 August during The Café’s opening hours 10am–4.30pm.

Topsham Flower Festival

Entries open for Estuary charity swim

Dust off the Speedos – the call is out for people to take to the water for the annual Topsham-Turf swim organised by the Estuary League of Friends.

This year’s event takes place on Saturday 17 August and covers the traditional mile-and-a-half course from Topsham Sailing Club to the Turf Hotel.

It is now eight years since the swim – a long-standing event in Topsham – was revived by Topsham ferryman Mike Stevens. Since 2005 it has been organised by Estuary League of Friends and now has support from Michelmores Solicitors.

Today (Thursday 4 July), residents of Topsham will welcome Dreadnought South West Association into the town as they continue their journey in celebration of the centenary of The Great Suffrage Pilgrimage. Both John Hubbard and Adam Buick are known for their tendency to work with natural materials in an exciting and modern way, combining the elements of nature - mostly water and earth - to try and represent the essence of life.

John Hubbard is a serious and celebrated artist, born in the USA in 1931 and now living in Dorset. He has had a long and distinguished career exhibiting internationally with his work in public and private collections worldwide.

Popular artists John Hubbard and Adam Buick are both having their work showcased in Topsham Art Room. This exhibition brings together two artists who work with natural materials to describe the core elements of nature; water and earth, the essence of life.

John Hubbard uses vine charcoal in his series of vigorous drawings entitled Leonardo in Scotland. This impressive work was inspired by the ‘Deluge’ drawings by Leonardo held in the library of Windsor Castle.
