Charity tree festival and donation hub launches in Princesshay

A donation hub has been set up for the first time in Princesshay as part of its Christmas 2020 charitable initiatives. The Giving Hub will occupy a unit on Roman Walk and will be collecting specific donations to support people who are homeless or vulnerably housed this Christmas.

Princesshay is working with the Exeter Homelessness Partnership to deliver the scheme.

Princesshay reveals new rainbow art installation: Hope

A new art installation has been unveiled in Princesshay today. The giant rainbow installation, entitled Hope, will brighten the canopy of the centre, high above shoppers’ heads, this summer.

Created using over 2,000 metres of rainbow coloured ribbon, hand sewn in the UK, the artwork is a gesture of thanks to key workers for their brave contribution throughout the crisis and represents the unity and sense of community that has been shown by the people of Exeter.

People welcomed back into city centre as pubs and restaurants reopen

City Council Leader Phil Bialyk has welcomed people back into the city as a number of restaurants and bars open up for the first time since ‘lockdown’.

But the Leader has urged people to be sensible and vigilant in an attempt to stop a second wave, as well as be patient, as some businesses are not ready to open.

Princesshay has appointed a new centre manager following the retirement of long-serving centre director, Wayne Pearce.

Princesshay receives national recognition for refurbished toilets

Princesshay has been awarded the highest grade, Platinum, in the national Loo of the Year awards for its recently upgraded toilets in Catherine Square and St Stephen’s House.

Princesshay unveils Charity Christmas Tree Festival

The lights are switched on at Princesshay’s Charity Christmas Tree Festival as part of its first late night shopping evening on Thursday 21st November.

The Lord Mayor officially opened the Festival of charity trees located on Roman Walk and announced that Multiple Sclerosis Society charity won best dressed tree.

The illuminated festival features 36 trees decorated by various local charities including Living Options, Princesshay’s charity of the year.

The trees will be on display for visitors to enjoy up until Christmas Eve.
