Princesshay to host outdoor Christmas bar and snow domes

Princesshay is to be home to a brand new ‘pop up’ Christmas bar with private snow domes, a Bratwurst BBQ and wooden chalets this festive season.

From Thursday 3rd December, Princesshay Square will be transformed into a magical Christmas scene with an open-air snow house bar, 7 heated snow dome pods and outdoor seating, a Bratwurst BBQ grill and wooden chalets selling gifts and seasonal food. The whole area will be lit and decorated for Christmas.

Michelle Menezes, Princesshay Centre Manager, says, “We know that for many people Christmas shopping is an important Christmas tradition and we love welcoming people to the centre each year.  2020 has been a year like no other and we all need to feel a little magic. We are going to be making the centre feel festive with our new outdoor Snow House Bar, cosy snow dome pods and wooden chalets. Naturally, we are taking all the necessary steps to make the experience safe so that shoppers can relax and soak up the Christmas magic.”

The snow dome pods seat a maximum of six people and are heated and lit with music playing inside the pod.  They can be booked in advance online and can fit up to six guests from the same household or support bubble as per the latest government guidelines. Food and drink can be ordered via an app from the pod. The BBQ grill will serve charcoal grilled Bratwurst and Krakauer and the wooden chalets will be selling gifts and seasonal food.

Visitors to Princesshay can also see the centre’s beautiful Christmas lights including Chief the stag, named by visitors last year, the illuminated throne and a huge Christmas tree decorated with over 300 individual decorations.

Princesshay Christmas Late Night Shopping starts on Thursday 3rd December until 8pm and then Thursday 10th and Thursday 17th December.

The Princesshay Snow Bar, snow dome pods and stalls will be open Thursday 3rd December – 6th January, 10am – 8pm Monday – Thursday, 10am – 10pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
