Skin Angels to spread safe sun message

Skin Angels, a group of campaigning beauty therapists from Exeter, will be educating shoppers about year round sun protection in Princesshay, this Saturday 21st June from 12.30 to 4pm.

Skin Angels, set up in 2013 by Mariam Badavi from Exeter's Purity Boutique Spa, are on a mission to raise awareness of the importance of protecting skin from the sun all year round and aim to arm young people with knowledge about looking after their skin to prevent and treat skin conditions such as acne.

Students visit City Bee Project

Students from St Peter’s C of E Aided School in Exeter visited Princesshay’s City Bee project on Thursday 5 June as part of World Environment Day.

The geography ambassadors of St Peter’s joined by SLL Geography, Mrs England, continued their education high above the busy shoppers of Exeter on Princesshay’s rooftop garden.

The pupils learnt about the importance of the honey bee and the role they have in ensuring the survival of the human race as well as receiving a lesson on how to tend to bee hives with bee keeper Jason Wallis of WeeTree Nurseries.

Princesshay to host Busking Festival

Buskers will bring a splash of colour and the sound of music to Princesshay over the summer solstice at the launch of a brand new Busking Festival. Musicians and performers are expected in Princesshay Square on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 June from 11am until 7pm each day.

The Busking Festival, organised by Princesshay, is part of its Centre Stage initiative offering up and coming performers the chance to showcase their talent to shoppers in the centre.

Princesshay, Exeter is giving away days out to national and local leisure attractions as part of its Summerdine restaurant promotion running from 7 July - 21 August 2014.

Byron opens its doors in Exeter

Byron, the proper hamburger specialists, will open their first South West restaurant in Princesshay, Exeter on Friday (13 June).

The restaurant serves classic hamburgers, including a regularly-changing special, plus sides, salads and desserts, including vegetarian options, a children’s menu and takeaway.

Tom Byng, Byron’s founder, said: “We’re excited to be opening in Exeter in a great location right at the heart of the city, and I hope local fans of proper hamburgers feel the same.”

The partnership between the MS Society and Land Securities, who jointly own Princesshay together with The Crown Estate, has raised more than £7,500.

The partnership with Princesshay began in the spring of 2012 and since then, the MS Society has been actively fundraising and raising the awareness of the charity at various events held in Princesshay. The MS Society is the leading national charity committed to beating MS – more than 100,000 people are living with the condition in the UK. People trapped in Princesshay lift

A call was received by Devon and Somerset Fire Control from Princesshay security, reporting that several people were stuck in a lift in the car park area of the shopping centre.

Two appliances from Exeter Danes Castle and Exeter Middlemoor were mobilised at 2.07am today (Saturday).

Crews used small tools to release three people from the confines of the lift, all were uninjured.

Flower Power comes to Princesshay today

Byron to open in Exeter's Princesshay

Byron is set to open its newest restaurant in Exeter’s Princesshay. The group of hamburger restaurants has a number of outlets across the UK, mainly in London, as well as a number of other cities including Manchester and Oxford. The Exeter restaurant is set to open in early summer and will occupy the current La Tasca unit.
