Lights switch-on and Christmas Market

Princesshay was packed with people on Thursday night for the big Christmas lights switch on.

Musical Performances by the University of Exeter’s Jazz Orchestra, the South West Music Academy and the Lympstone Military Wives choir counted down to the main event.

Rob Baxter head coach of the Exeter Chiefs and Paul Tisdale, manager of Exeter City Football Club were joined on stage by Exeter City players John O’Flynn and Sam Parkin and the Lord Mayor of Exeter, Rachel Lyons, to officially turn on the lights.

Exeter city centre’s Christmas lights switch-on event is just a week away.

The Christmas lights ceremony, next Thursday, will see Rob Baxter, Exeter Chiefs Head Coach; Paul Tisdale, Manager of Exeter City Football Club and members of the Lympstone Military Wives Choir taking centre stage to jointly switch on the city centre’s Christmas lights at 6.30pm.

Joining them on stage will be the Lord Mayor of Exeter.

Radio Exe and Princesshay to spread Christmas cheer

Princesshay is collaborating with Radio Exe this festive season to support its Operation Christmas campaign. Operation Christmas encourages shoppers to buy an extra gift which will be donated to Princesshay’s local charity of the year, WESC Foundation.

There will be dedicated Operation Christmas drop off points throughout Princesshay and at the WESC charity shops in Exmouth and Honiton for shoppers to drop off their chosen gifts. On Christmas Eve all donated gifts will be presented to WESC Foundation.

Saltrock opens new Exeter store in Princesshay

Saltrock, the UK’s original surf lifestyle company is to open a brand new store in Exeter’s Princesshay on Saturday 26 October 2013.

The new store will occupy the unit between schuh and LK Bennett, in the heart Princesshay, offering collections for men, women and children.

This year's Christmas Market in Exeter will run from Thursday 21 November until Thursday 19 December, on Cathedral Green. Local residents are being challenged to abseil 80 feet down the side of Princesshay Shopping Centre dressed as Santa for charity.
