Exeter’s Coal backs Movember

Staff at Exeter’s Coal Grill and Bar will be taking part in Movember as part of the University of Exeter’s Movember@Exeter campaign. Acting as the HQ for the Mo-vement, staff members will be starting their Mo growing journey on November 1st with clean-shaven faces as well as offering special Mo-offers to anyone taking part.

Matt Church, manager of Coal Grill and Bar in Exeter said: “We are really excited to be involved in Movember@Exeter, especially as we’re sponsors of the campaign. It is for a great cause and anything we can do to help raise awareness is good.

“There will be lots going on with drinks offers on Mo-jitos and socials throughout the month and we are hoping that our regulars will also join us in our Movember campaign. Fingers crossed by the end of November there will be an array of different Mo’s on display behind the bar here at Coal – The Trucker, The Connoisseur (think Poirot) and The Abracadabra are particular favourites.”

Coordinators of the Movember@Exeter campaign Alex Hawkes and Harry Williams said: “It is really great to have the support from our sponsors Exeter Coal Grill and Bar to help realise our goal of making Movember an outstanding and unique campaign in Exeter this year. With all the social and sports events that we have lined up for students at the University of Exeter, Movember is set to be quite a Mo-mentous month!”

Every year this global movement challenges men to grow a moustache throughout the month of November in order to raise funds and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer and mental health. Started in 2003 in Australia, Movember has raised more than £92 million for men’s health, helping research cancer cures and prevention.

However, Movember is not just for men as women, known as Mo-Sistas, can get involved by taking part themselves by dip-dying their hair. If they aren’t up for this challenge they can also ‘Adopt a Mo’ where they claim the rights to the Mo and can decide how it grows!
