Adam Barkworth of SAKS Princesshay truly is a cut above the rest

Saks in Princesshay, one of Exeter’s favourite hair and beauty salons, has a brand new star. Adam Barkworth, who has been training with Saks since September 2012, has won the highly regarded title of Advanced Apprentice of the Year in the National Saks Education Awards 2013.

Adam achieved this fantastic award through in-depth research into styles and trends and drawing inspiration from the environment around him. By collating pictures, colour swatches and examples of make-up, fashions and hair styles, Adam was able to decide on his final look for the competition.

Go-Kart Party, Go Fundraising in Princesshay

Go-Kart Party has raised over £750 for the WESC Foundation with its inflatable boundary track located in Princesshay Square throughout the summer, as part of the continued charity partnership between WESC Foundation and Princesshay.

Go-Kart Party kindly donated 10% of all takings throughout their summer to the WESC Foundation, together with additional money from the onsite raffle to win an All-Terrain Kart™.

The Student Lock In is back! For one night only at Princesshay

The Student Lock-In is set to return to Princesshay Shopping Centre for the third year running on Wednesday 2 October from 18.30-21.00. The shopping centre will be closed for exclusive use by students from Exeter and the surrounding area for one night only.

Over 30 shops and restaurants will be keeping their doors open while students indulge with brands such as Topshop/Topman, Superdry, Schuh, New Look and River Island. The DJ truck will be creating a party atmosphere for student shoppers and retailers involved.

Princesshay Shopping Centre has partnered up with the MS Society to support people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS), by hosting the Big Orange Drop Abseil on Thursday 31st October from 12 noon until 7pm.

Princesshay and the MS Society are very keen for all to get involved and aim to raise as much money as possible. So if descending a massive 80 feet on Halloween sounds like your kind of thing and you’re over 12 years old, the centre would love to hear from you!

Princesshay honey is the buzziness!

Following the launch of the city garden and the housing of three bee hives on the roof tops of the Princesshay Shopping Centre in April 2013; the busy honey bees have produced their first pots of honey!

The nucleus hive, also known as a beginner’s hive does not usually produce honey during its first year, however, the Princesshay bees have produced 3 pounds of honey in just four months, which has equated to three jars of delicious, dark runny honey.

Next launches first new full-range lingerie room in Exeter

Next has opened a stunning new lingerie room in Exeter's Princesshay Shopping Centre.

It’s the first one to launch that brings the entire Next lingerie range together. Before, products were restricted to online, but now new styles and services such as g-cups, shape solutions and a fully functional fitting service will be available in-store.

Exeter shopping centre helps to crack crime

Princesshay Shopping Centre in Exeter is the latest group to join a police scheme to tackle antisocial behaviour. The centre security team is undertaking a training and accreditation process under the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS). The scheme allows Devon and Cornwall Police to accredit certain minor police powers to staff or organisations who are committed to working with communities and police in tackling crime and disorder. The Special Olympics Flame of Hope is coming to Princesshay, Exeter on Saturday 24 August at 2pm. The flame is making its journey to Bath, Somerset for the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics National Games 2013. Join in the fun from 10am in Princesshay Square with sporting events aplenty.

Princesshay Square transformed into summer green for Happy Mondays

To celebrate the summer holidays, Princesshay Square has been transformed into Princesshay green. Every Monday in August a turfed area and outdoor games for families and visitors will be in place for all to enjoy.

New florist opens in Princesshay

A contemporary new florist, Moka, has opened in Roman Walk in Princesshay.

Moka owner, Jonathan Murray, who already owns St Leonards Flowers on Magdalen Road, Exeter, brings this experience and success to his second city centre store.

Jonathan Murray explains, “Moka is a modern, stylish floristry offering distinctive ready-made and bespoke bouquets and plants with a very different feel to the country garden, village style of St Leonards Flowers.
