FUNdraising for Sport Relief in Princesshay

Hundreds took part in the Sport Relief Sprint Challenge with the South West Athletics Academy in Princesshay on Saturday 22nd March with nearly £200 raised through donations on the day.

The event provided an opportunity for all to have a go on a professional portable athletics track right in the heart of the city. New for this year was a high jump bed for the more adventurous!

The team were joined by Street Motion, Exeter’s Parkour & Freerunning Academy, who gave demonstrations on free running and parkour and offered the chance for people to try it out on the day....

South West Athletics Academy will be running the 'Sprint Challenge' where anyone can have a go on their world class portable track and compete against others for the best time on the leader board.

Almost a year on from its last Sprint Challenge, Princesshay have once again invited South West Athletics Academy to bring its portable track right into the heart of Exeter’s shopping precinct, this time for a very special Sport Relief Sprint Challenge.

The event will be held on Saturday (22 March) from 10am onwards and will see the colourful red and blue track laid out so that shoppers of all ages can come and try their hand at sprinting and jumping.

Pancake Race for charity is a flipping success

Supporters and shoppers stopped at Exeter’s Princesshay to watch companies compete for the Pancake World Champion title today.

The Pancake World Championship is a partnership between local Event Management Company Wacky Nation and Princesshay, to raise funds for local charity Dream-A-Way, Princesshay’s charity of the year for 2014. It was hosted by Radio Exe.

Princesshay will host the inaugural World Pancake Racing Championships on Shrove Tuesday (4 March).

Local businesses, organisations and individuals are now being invited to demonstrate their pancake flipping credentials by entering a team of between two and four members.
