Saltrock Summer Sessions

To celebrate longer days and warmer summer evenings, Saltrock, Princesshay is hosting a free music event on Thursday 3rd July between 4-7pm.  Musician Jonah Hitchens and band will be performing in store with support act, King Dynamite. Late night shoppers will receive one night only special event offers and experience live music from talented local musicians.

Samantha Pigeon, Saltrock Store Manager said: “We’re very excited to be hosting the Saltrock Summer Sessions here in Princesshay on the 3rd of July. We will be kicking the night off with a set from DJ King Dynamite, followed by the acoustic sounds from the Jonah Hitchens Band. We’ve got drinks and nibbles and a special one night only event discount. It’s great that the shops in Exeter are starting to open later and we are delighted that we can be a part of it.”

Together with Saltrock there are now over 20 retailers in Princesshay that are part of the extended trading hour’s campaign and open longer on Thursday nights. Some of the retailers include, schuh, HMV, JD Sports, Beaverbrooks, Insideout, SAKS, Apple, Topshop, New Look, Zara, Hotel Chocolat, Carphone Warehouse, Nike Running, Next , River Island, Build a Bear, Debenhams, Superdry and Hollister.

The extended trading hour’s campaign started in April this year with around 14 retailers taking part and opening later, now over 50 retailers across the city are staying opening until 7pm on Thursday’s.

Princesshay, The Guildhall Shopping Centre, and Stagecoach South West are backing the initiative with a promotional campaign to get the message out to the city’s workers.  Exeter City Council and the City Centre Manager, John Harvey have supported the campaign offering drivers free parking on Thursday evenings after 5pm in City Council Pay and Display car parks.

Opening hours are now 9.30am-6.00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 11am-5pm on Sunday and 9.30am-7.00pm on Thursday.
