Both teams from Exeter Golf and Country Club celebrated successfully completing the mighty Rock Solid Race on Saturday 15th March at Escot, raising £700 for Hospiscare.

The 7k race (which was originally billed as 5K!) was set within the woods, rivers and fields at Escot House with 35 obstacles along the way. Organisers of one of Devon’s premier golf tournaments will be celebrating its tenth anniversary in style this summer, hoping to raise more than £100k for local charity Hospiscare.

Teams of golf enthusiasts are being called to putt their best swing forward at the Hospiscare Golf Day, taking place at the Exeter Golf and Country Club on July 10.

Spaces are available for 50 teams of four to sign up for the amateur competition and be in with a chance of taking home the coveted Marnie Burgoyne Memorial Trophy.

Egg-cellent local charity Hospiscare is looking for people to get involved with its Easter Extravaganza raising money to help people living with a terminal illness in Exeter, mid and east Devon.

The charity launched the Easter campaign last week, offering people the chance to win luxury Easter eggs as they fundraise for the charity this Spring.

Hospiscare is asking people to test their mettle at this year’s Rock Solid Race on March 15 in aid of the local hospice charity.

With spaces for the Rock Solid Race, taking place at Escot Park, now 97 per cent full, Hospiscare is appealing for anyone who is yet to sign up, to join the Hospiscare team and raise money for a great cause as they face the unique obstacle course.

Hospiscare is asking people to ‘lent’ a helping hand in the run-up to Easter, by giving up a vice or changing a habit in aid of the local charity.

The Quit for a Bit 40 Day Lent Challenge launched on March 5, offering people the chance to support Hospiscare as they observe Lent.

Call for cyclists to support Hospiscare

Lycra-clad cycling enthusiasts are being called to take part in the second Kitsons Devon Classic Bike Ride which is supporting local charity Hospiscare in 2014. The popular bike ride, taking place on Sunday July 20, features a challenge for all cycling abilities across a choice of three routes, adding a different element to the event and allowing individuals to pick between 55, 85 and 100 mile routes. Renowned wine expert Susy Atkins is joining forces with Honiton’s Deer Park Hotel to lead a taste tour of South America – and all to support local charity Hospiscare’s plans to build a new East Devon Day Hospice.

Exeter gym fundraiser for Hospiscare

Exeter Golf and Country Club gym members have raised over £100 for Hospiscare in the first of their year-long programme of fund-raising events.

The gym held the Six Nations Circuits Challenge earlier this month for the Club President’s charity of the year.

Local charity Hospiscare is looking for cycling enthusiasts to fill its spaces at the 2014 Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100.

The public ballot for the exciting cycling event closed when it reached capacity of 80,000 people in just one month.

Hospiscare is delighted to have nine golden bond places available for the 2014 event and is looking for keen cyclists to help support the charity.

Last year the local hospice charity had seven supporters take part in the event who between them raised over £4,500.

Local charity Hospiscare are looking for last minute runners to fill the remaining spaces for Exeter’s Rock Solid Race on Saturday 15 March at Escot Park.
