Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park is working in partnership with Radio Exe to celebrate National Rollercoaster Day on Sunday 16th August 2015 to help raise vital funds for Crealy’s charity of the year, Children’s Hospice South West.

National Rollercoaster Day celebrates the nation’s greatest thrill seeking ride. Devon’s Crealy is home to three family friendly rollercoasters, with its newest addition The Twister, which opened in July.

Three local men are cycling the length of the country to raise funds for Exeter-based charity Rainbow Living.

Duncan, Will and Jools are cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End to help raise money for a third Rainbow House which will provide a home for a group of young disabled adults in the local area. The trio are preparing in a variety of ways and have just completed the Nello, a 100 mile cycle ride!

Take a #RainbowSelfie for Devon charity

Devon-based charity Rainbow Living is looking for 5,000 people to take a #RainbowSelfie to help raise £15,000 towards buying a third Rainbow House and provide a home for a group of young disabled adults.

#RainbowSelfie is part of the charity’s #ThirdRainbowHouse campaign which launches today (Tuesday 28 July).

Exeter Round Table is pleased to report another successful year of the Westpoint Arena Fireworks Display. The event held in November 2014 saw record numbers in attendance to enjoy one of Exeter’s best known charity events.

Recovery cafe to open in Exeter

Exeter will soon be home to the county’s first ever permanent recovery café.

A fund-raising drive is being held to fund the café, which will provide a much-needed community hub for people who have experienced issues with drugs or alcohol and their families. The café will be based at RISE Recovery Integration Services, which provides drug and alcohol support and treatment services for people across the area. As part of the fund-raising drive, a Fun in the Sun fete is taking place on July 11th between 12pm and 3pm at the Exeter service in Uplands Business Centre, Heavitree Road....

Michelmores raises £650 for ELF

The Residential Property team at Michelmores took over the Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) shop in Crediton on the 9th June 2015. Raising funds by selling cakes, steaming clothes and dressing the store windows the team raised £650 in one day for the charity.

The Exeter Leukaemia Fund supports families affected by blood cancers and blood disorders across the South West by providing compassionate, tailored support in the Yarty ward at the RD&E where around 400 patients are treated each week.

Exeter based couple, Austin and Sally Burn-Jones, are aiming to raise £5,000 for various charities through the St. James’s Place Foundation.

On June 5th, Austin and Sally embarked on their challenge of climbing 3 mountains in 3 days, reaching highs of 6,000 feet.

In support of their charity challenge Austin and Sally have teamed up with local businesses to host a ‘Healthier, Cleaner World Fundraiser’ on June 16th at The Exeter City Football Club, from 7-9:30pm.

Bull Meadow Park in St Leonard’s will be transformed on Saturday 27th June as it plays host to the St Leonard’s Summer Fete.
