£100,000 appeal to plug Killerton's leaking roof

Killerton House near Exeter, looked after by the National Trust, has launched a major fundraising campaign to plug the holes in its leaking roof.

£100,000 is needed to help pay for work due to start in late February which will prevent the threat of water damage to the much loved house and collection, which includes a unique Trust fashion collection. Tesco colleagues across the South West are preparing to get festive to raise funds for the National Charity Partnership. Over the weekend of 9th December – 11th December, the nationwide ‘Rudolph Race’ fundraiser will see colleagues across Tesco raise money to help improve the health of the nation. Rusty Pig announces total raised at Tar Barrels

Rusty Pig’s mobile feasting wagons scored a major success at this year’s Tar Barrels in Ottery.

The two wagons, based in Mill Street during the revels, raised a total of £2015 for the Ottery St Mary Carnival Committee.

Rusty Pig owner, Robin Rea said: “We knew this would be a busy year as Tar Barrels fell on a Saturday – the town was heaving.

“Having two wagons instead of the single one we had last year meant we could serve many more revellers than before.”

Chilcotts Auctioneers summer show competition winner has been announced.

The competition asked visitors to the Chilcotts show stand at the Honiton and North Devon Shows to take a guess at the price an auction lot would achieve at auction.

The lot, an early twentieth century miniature chest on stand, was a tricky one to estimate. However, Paul Benson from Taunton got very close with a guess of £225. The chest was sold at auction in the September sale for £220.

XYBC raise £650 for Devon Air Ambulance Trust

XYBC , which has been supported by Ashfords LLP since its inception in 2002, gives young professionals within the Exeter business community the opportunity to network and socialise.

England blind footballers challenge local businesses

WESC Foundation (WESC) in partnership with Listen2Win hosted a Visual Impairment Challenge at WESC’s 14-acre campus in Exeter.

Construction Consultants Haldons Ltd. present a cheque of £1000 to Combe Pafford in Torquay, a school which caters for pupils with learning and physical difficulties.
