Oakdown celebrates regional award success

SIDMOUTH-based family Holiday Park, Oakdown, has kicked off 2018 with yet more incredible award success, by winning the prestigious gold award for Best Holiday Park in the South West.

The award was presented to the Oakdown team at the South West Tourism Awards ceremony at the Riviera Centre in Torquay last night.

Every class at Stoke Hill Junior School worked hard and had fun learning about road safety during this year’s Road Safety Week campaign (November 20-26, 2017).

Their challenge was to think about how to make the roads around their school safer, and to create a poster promoting road safety.

Gold award for family-run holiday park

Oakdown Caravan and Camping Park, based on the East Devon coast, is celebrating after winning gold in the ‘Holiday Park of the Year’ category in the Visit Devon Tourism Awards.

The awards, which are now in their eighth year, celebrate the best of Devon Tourism.

RAMM strikes gold!

Exeter’s Royal Albert Memorial Museum has won Gold in the 2017 Devon Tourism Awards for Large Attraction. RAMM also scooped a Silver award for Access and Inclusivity and Bronze award for Artistic, Cultural and Learning Attraction.

Award winners from this year’s Devon Cycle Challenge have celebrated their achievements at a special presentation at County Hall.

It is the third year that Devon County Council has run the Cycle Challenge as part of Cycle September, and in that time more than 900 new riders have been encouraged to take up cycling by signing up to the scheme.
