As part of their Culture + Climate programme 2020, THG has teamed up with East Devon AONB to share NATURE SHORTS: an online series showcasing art practices which inspire, build creativity and deepen our connection with nature.

NATURE SHORTS explores how we can connect with nature during isolation, sharing different artistic approaches to land and space. The highlighted artists work across a range of materials and processes including land art, photography, printmaking and performance.

Banners created by people living with dementia who worked with a trio of well-known artists will be on display in Exeter until the end of March.

The banners, including one developed by members of Age UK Exeter’s Budding Friends group, are on show as a special exhibit in Exeter Library.

Photographer Ian Beesley, poet Ian McMillan, and cartoonist Tony Husband worked with people living with dementia and their carers to create the banners as part of the ‘A Life More Ordinary’ project which originated from research at the University of Exeter. The project aims to support people...

Devon schoolgirls triumph in countryside charity’s art and writing competitions

A five-year-old girl from Exeter and two ten-year-old girls from Tavistock have won the top prizes in this year’s art and writing competitions held by the Devon branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE Devon).

The charity received the highest ever number of entries from primary schools in Devon, many of whom took part for the first time, including several in Exeter and Plymouth.
