Work includes jewellery, sculpture, textiles, taxidermy and photography, alongside historical artefacts lent by Plymouth Council Arts and Heritage, illustrating how artists are influenced by materials historically used to decorate and adorn.

The Devon Art Society´s big summer exhibition is being held at St. Annes Hall, Babbacombe.

There are hundreds of paintings on display. The artists are showing new works covering classical themes such as floral, still-life, figurative and landscape as well as seascape subject matters and some abstracts too.

The Devon Art Society of Torquay has a long tradition of exhibiting and selling high quality paintings since 1912 when some of the greatest artists of their times we among the founder members.

New street art improves look of community hub

Three former offenders have helped to brighten up a previously dull car park at a community hub in Exeter.

The group, who are all being supported by Dorset, Devon and Cornwall Community Rehabilitation Company (DDC CRC) as part of their sentences, have taken part in a street art course as they look to pick up new skills. They are helping to transform the old car park at Wat Tyler House community hub on King William Street into a ‘paradise’ garden area and have spray painted pink flamingos onto the wall. This year marks the 62nd annual Summer exhibition of selected pieces by Devon Guild Members.

The show features a diverse range of contemporary craft from across the South West. You can also gain an insight into what makers do all day with diary snapshots of Members' everyday lives displayed alongside the exhibits.

There is a DIY 'Perfect Day' Craft activity in the gallery for kids and don’t forget to vote for your favourite maker in The People’s Choice Award.

Facelift for Exe Bridges subway

Local graffiti artists have given the subway at Exe Bridges in Exeter a colourful facelift.

The project, organised by Devon County Council and Miss*C’s Graffiti Academy, has over recent weekends seen local graffiti artists donating their time for free to revitalise the subways. "Green|Blue" - the art of flood risk

“Green|Blue” is a series of black & white images of 'trees'. The work is derived from Environment Agency data on land at risk of flooding from rivers and the sea, separating out 21 river catchments around the South coast from the Sussex Ouse to the Bristol Avon.

Crediton is getting ready for a new visitor.

The team at Crediton Parish Church have to produce new themes and ideas each year, which will work as an exhibition with flowers. This year's Crediton Parish Church Flower Festival theme is no exception.

Intriguingly entitled 'What's the Point...', the team will be coaxing a rhino into church, with our outside broadcast crew taking photos and video from a safe distance.
