As part of our special schedule of summer workshops, we're excited to offer the chance to get started learning wonderful hand embroidery with our Zenbroidery kits.

In essence, this is ‘colouring in with thread’ – we have 6 beautiful designs printed on to plain white fabric, which you can then embellish in any way and frame up as they are or then make into something awesome.

Your group will design and build a large, futuristic blow-up structure - the type commonly used for festivals, camping, temporary nightclubs and zorb-tastic fun. An exhibition of beautiful titanic-size woodcut prints opens this month at our gallery from Friday 20th May. Every single work is swiftly and skilfully crafted by the Pine Feroda collective – comprising of five south west based artists, seamlessly working together in harmony on the north coast of Devon.

Meet all the members of Pine Feroda at the free launch event on Friday 20th May, 5pm-8pm. Formal opening by Chris Chapman, photographer and film-maker. Music by the Serenoa String Quartet.

Freefall Youth Group create graffiti artwork in Exeter

On Saturday, the route between the Exeter Phoenix arts centre and Exeter Library will be transformed, as the Freefall Youth Group wield spray cans and stencils to create a new graffiti artwork. The work, called Freefall Climate Graffiti, will feature maps of the UK showing how our climate could change in future decades.

Freefall Climate Graffiti is part of Art Week Exeter, running from 9th-15th May. It is the brainchild of two local artists: Cleo Heard, who runs Miss*C's Graffiti Academy; and Clare Bryden, an environmental artist.

A series of striking paintings from cultural icon Bob Dylan have been released as signed limited edition graphics by the UK’s leading fine art publisher, Washington Green.

Following unprecedented demand for 'The Drawn Blank Series' – which was first translated into limited edition graphics in 2008 – Washington Green has published six of the most iconic images from the collection in never before seen colourways. Released in an edition of 295, each piece is individually hand signed by the artist, and will be available to buy at Castle Fine Art, Exeter from Friday 8th April.

Devon Art Society Spring Exhibition

Hundreds of original paintings will go on display at the Devon Art Society ´s spring exhibition at St. Annes Hall, Babbacombe. There are classical themes covering floral, still-life, figurative and landscape as well as seascape subject matters and some abstracts too. The Devon Art Society of Torquay was founded in 1912 and has a long tradition of exhibiting and selling high quality paintings. Visitors are welcome to talk with the artists to share their impressions as many of the artists will be present throughout the exhibition. Open daily 10am - 6pm Admission is free

Top artists celebrate final exhibition for Spacex before new move

An art exhibition examining the importance of bees will be the final exhibition at Spacex’s Preston Street gallery before the organisation relocates to embark on a new way of working.

Twelve top artists will be taking part in Honeyscribe Hive, which examines our ancient relationship with the bee. The project leading up to the exhibition has involved scientists, artists, writers, beekeepers and the public.
