Council offer 'behind-the-scenes' food hygiene tips

Restaurants and food businesses in Exeter are being offered behind-the-scenes tips on how to improve their food hygiene ratings.

Exeter City Council is holding sessions on running a food business and how to get a maximum 5 rating.

The sessions cost just £10 and aim to take the mystery out of food safety inspections. The next session will take place at the Civic Centre in Paris Street, Exeter, on Thursday 17 April from 10am until midday.

Exeter MAG have organised a charity Easter egg run to Little Bridge House in Barnstaple. This is a children's hospice centre, and we are heading there to donate Eater eggs.

Bikers are asked to meet at Exeter services at 10.30 on Sunday 20 April with chocolate eggs. There will be a car going to take the eggs in so you don't have to strap them to yourselves!

A world class field will be in action at Bicton Arena’s first affiliated horse trials which takes place on April 25 and 26. Devon Student showcasing work at prestigious exhibition

A Devon student is one of 40 students showcasing their work at a prestigious exhibition to be held at the Bargehouse, OXO Tower in London.

Karen Sanders, who splits her time between Devon and Bristol, is one of several students who will be showcasing their photographs in the exhibition entitled ‘ FLUXURE’.

A Government planning inspector has rejected appeals by developers on controversial proposals to build over 200 new homes in the village of Feniton. The combined appeals, heard at the Feniton ‘Super Inquiry’ in January, saw three developers challenge decisions on a total of four proposals previously refused by East Devon District Council (EDDC). As a result of the public inquiry three of the four appeals were rejected by Inspector Jessica Graham who ruled that plans, by Wainhomes and Strategic Land Partnerships, would cause significant harm to the landscape and setting of Feniton. Exeter builder to help children as charity of the year is announced

A builder is launching a regional fundraising drive to help a charity which champions children’s play.

Exeter-based Persimmon Homes South West has chosen Play Torbay as its charity of the year and hopes to raise thousands of pounds for the cause throughout 2014.

Play Torbay is a small, voluntary sector organisation which offers free play opportunities and adventure activities for youngsters. The charity also has a team of experienced inclusion workers to support disabled young people so they do not have to miss out on adventure and play opportunities.
