A local U13’s rugby team can smarten up after matches thanks to new match dinner shirts from funding awarded by South West Water.

Exeter Athletic RFC is an amateur rugby club based in Clyst St Mary which formed in 2018 from the merger of Exeter-based clubs Wessex RFC and Exeter Youth RFC.

This year’s Senior’s Open Bowmaker competition had sufficient entrants to allow the allocation of two prize funds: one for home teams and another for visitors.

The best score of the day was recorded by Rich Stevens, Andrew Vickery, and Chris Hazelwood of The Warren Golf Club, which is located on the Dawlish Warren National Nature Reserve. Their score of eighty-three stableford points saw them tied with the Moors Valley Golf Club trio of Alan Newman, Gary Rogers, and Graham Cherrett who ended up in second place by virtue of a countback.

The Jockey Club South West Frequent Runner Scheme returns for the 2021/22 Jump season and will once again aim to reward trainers who run horses regularly at the four Jockey Club Racecourses in the South West – Cheltenham, Exeter, Warwick, and Wincanton.

The AJ Bell Tour of Britain was greeted with a welcome that was as warm as the temperatures in Devon today (Monday 6 September).

Devon hosted Stage Two of this year’s race, with the professional riders starting in Sherford under blue skies, matching the AJ Bell Leader’s jersey worn by Olympic silver medallist Wout Van Aert at the start of the day after his victory in the opening stage in Cornwall.
