Eight business people from around Exeter took part in the Kirk Hills Omelette Challenge, the second year that it’s run at the Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink.
The Challenge was judged by Michael Caines MBE who showed the contestants how it should be done with a time of 28 seconds. Paul Nero from Radio Exe was compere for the event.
Keith Biggs from OTB Eveling was defending champion and looked like he would win again this year with the best time in the initial round. However there was an ‘egg off’ between Keith and the second fastest Chris Bentley from Exeter...

The event brings experts and information providers together under one roof so local landlords have all the information they need to run tenancies effectively.

BBC South West is to screen a special election debate featuring local voters putting questions to a panel of the region’s most prominent politicians.
The debate will be shown on BBC One at 10:50pm tonight (Wednesday 29 April). It will be an opportunity for voters to quiz candidates from the major political parties on their policies and priorities for the South West.

Devon’s first ever international horse trials drew plaudits from spectators and competitors alike following three days of intense competition which took place at Bicton Arena in East Devon at the weekend.
Organiser Helen West, who also manages the arena, had added an international class to Bicton’s schedule to provide Westcountry-based riders with the opportunity to ride at that level. She also wanted to make it a spectacle for visitors and used the main showjumping arena, which has its own natural amphitheatre, to position several new cross country fences.
Loulou the Lobster, from Exeter completed the London Marathon in six and a half hours on Sunday!
Rachel Marshall a 39-year-old Mortgage Adviser ran the London Marathon on 26 April dressed as a lobster, to raise money for national deafblind charity Sense.
Rachel said: “It was challenging currying around a heavy, warm costume whilst running 26.2 miles, but it was great seeing everyone smile and cheering on the giant lobster scurrying past!”
Rachel was inspired to run for Sense as she used to work at the Plymouth Deaf Association and knows first-hand the challenges...
The Dartmouth Steam Railway, First Great Western and the Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership have joined forces to launch a new South Devon Walking Festival which will take place between 9th and 17th May.
The Festival aims to encourage people to try one or more of the self-guided walks from Paignton, Torquay, and Kingswear stations contained in the “Walks from the Riviera Line” or the Dartmouth Steam Railway’s “Railway Walks” booklets which are available from local staffed railway stations or online.
