Local animal volunteer organisation, K9 Focus Dog Rescue in Devon, has been named ‘Animal Charity Team of the Year’ in the Petplan and Association of Dogs and Cats Homes (ADCH) Animal Charity Awards.
In its third year, the awards celebrate the incredible work, dedication and commitment of animal charities and not-for-profit organisations across the UK, Ireland and Channel Islands. The awards also identify animal charity teams, volunteers and employees that continuously go above and beyond in their mission to improve animal welfare.

Devon County Council is urging residents to be on their guard following a number of complaints about a telephone caller, who claims to be from the authority, and asks about a recent accident.
These calls are not from, or authorised by, the council but appear to be a scam to try to get residents to provide personal details.
The caller introduces themselves as an officer from Devon County Council and then asks about an accident in the past year or two and talks about making a compensation claim.

The first stage of some exciting archaeological exploration has just been completed on Dartmoor. This has involved a geophysical survey on a recently discovered large stone circle located close to Sittaford Tor.
The circle is situated 525m above sea level, making it the highest stone circle in southern England, with panoramic views in all directions. With a diameter of 34m, it is the second largest circle on Dartmoor. The first stones were identified by Alan Endacott a few years ago.
