The nine-year-old had refused to start twice in his career leading connections to re-think how they train him but he was the convincing winner of the two miles four furlongs handicap chase beating Saintemilion by two and a quarter lengths in an intriguing race where the four starters were all 9-4 co favourites.

Work to resume on Moor Lane roundabout

Work is set to resume on the upgrade of Moor Lane roundabout in Exeter this week, with the scheme having been revised.

The improvements were temporarily put on hold earlier this month following complications with the utility services.

Some of the utilities need major diversions which cannot be achieved within the original scope of the scheme. It means the additional lane being developed on the approach to the Moor Lane roundabout from the direction of Sowton Industrial Estate has had to be shortened in length.

Contractor MacPlant will now re-start excavation work on...

The gulls pecked more often at the handled food, suggesting they use human actions when deciding what to eat.

The University of Exeter study follows previous research which found that staring at seagulls makes them less likely to steal food.

“UK herring gull numbers are declining, but urban populations have increased,” said lead author Madeleine Goumas, of the Centre for Ecology and...
