First steps taken in bid to become a Net Zero Carbon city

People have been giving their feedback on Exeter's bid to become a Net Zero Carbon city by 2030.

The first community engagement event has taken place in the city. A steady flow of people attended the inaugural drop-in session at The Beacon Community Centre in Beacon Lane.

Families and individuals turned up to discuss the Blueprint for a Net Zero Exeter, and identify the everyday challenges and barriers that must be overcome.

Prince Charles has today awarded the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher Education to a team at the University of Exeter for the pivotal role it has played to expose the devastating effect that plastics pollution has on the health of humans and wildlife.

Devon Air Ambulance expands service to patients with two Critical Care Cars

From 2 March, when poor weather or maintenance prevents Devon’s emergency aircraft from flying, two new Critical Care Cars mean our critical care teams can still provide specialist life-saving care by road. Hundreds of health and care jobs will be on offer at a series of ‘Proud to Care’ jobs fairs next month.

The job and careers fairs will be held at different locations across Devon over four Saturdays from March 7 to March 28 2020.

The eco-friendly vehicle sharing co-operative Co Cars has today announced the launch of a major funding round to raise £600k to grow its shared mobility initiatives.

Exeter Foodbank gets £250 boost from local retirement house builder

The McCarthy and Stone team at the Pinnoc Mews Retirement Living development on Bakers Way in Exeter has donated £250 to the Exeter Foodbank.

The Exeter Foodbank was originally founded in 2008 by local churches and community groups to help local people in need. The donation by McCarthy and Stone will help with the day-to-day running of the Foodbank, which offers three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to those who are in crisis.
