Seventeen-year-old Luke came third on this year’s show despite an incredible performance in the final alongside Ellie Goulding.

Exeter Phoenix has announced that the Exeter Contemporary Open 2013 Audience Choice Award has been won by Max Cahn. The prestigious contemporary art exhibition, which opened on Friday 13 September, has seen hundreds of visitors vote for their favourite work. Big Screen in the Park returns to Northernhay Gardens

Exeter’s most anticipated cinema event returns to Northernhay Gardens on 14 August with more fabulous al fresco films.

A different film will be shown each night on the 10m screen, there will be street food vendors, a cocktail caravan and film-themed activities.

Gates open at 7.30pm and films start at approximately 9pm. Tickets are £3.
