Glenn Cosby, a contestant in the 2013 series of BBC TV’s Great British Bake Off, is the guest speaker at the first of Exeter Racecourse’s series of ‘Business Breakfast’ networking events, which takes place on Friday, April 17.

NETWORKING group Leading Women UK will be bringing their series of political debates across the west country in the run up to the general election to Exeter.

The event will include a panel made up of Ben Bradshaw, Labour Party MP for Exeter; Prospective Parliamentary Candidate Dom Morris and PPC Diana Moore for the Green Party.

It will be held at the city’s Mercure Exeter Southgate Hotel as part of the Leading Women UK Political Special 2015 on April 16th from 6pm to 8pm.

Devon Business Expo 2015

The Devon Business Expo will take place at the Matford Centre on April 30th and looks set to be even bigger than last year’s event which saw more than 700 people attend and visit the 70 exhibitors. Stands are already being taken up with 50% already booked. It is expected that there will be 100 exhibitors and up to 1000 people attending on the day.

On Wednesday 11th February, Gilbert Stephens LLP is hosting another Great Devon Breakfast in aid of local cancer charity, FORCE.

This popular event, which forms part of a county-wide fundraising campaign, will be held at the City Gate Hotel on the corner of St David’s Hill and Bartholomew Street East and starts at 8am. Breakfast costs £8 and includes a choice of Eggs Benedict or Scrambled Eggs with Smoked Salmon* with tea or coffee and a glass of orange juice.

New Chairman for DEBI

The Devon Environmental Business Initiative (DEBI) has a new chairperson for the start of its 23rd year.

Peter Morgan, Environmental Officer at Paignton Zoo, took over the reins at the most recent DEBI board meeting after Andy Vickery, who has held the position for 10 years, formally stood down.

“I’m delighted to take on the role – I hope to continue Andy’s achievements in keeping DEBI at the forefront of the green community,” said Peter.

An online booking system has been introduced by the Sandy Park events team:

Designed to streamline the booking process for events held at the award-winning venue, the booking system allows clients to book onto events and pay instantly via credit or debit card.

The system can be used to book onto the first networking event in the redeveloped Sandy Park, the b2b Business Breakfast on 19 September.

Ladies Do … with a difference!

On Thursday, 18th September 2014 (from 17.30 – 20.00), Ladies Do ... will be holding a prestigious ‘Ladies Do Networking’ event, at Bradburys Kitchens showroom on Marsh Barton and will be combining this with a macaroon making (and eating!) demonstration by Sylvain Peltier of Little French Cakes.
Sylvain trained extensively at the 2 Michelin starred, Tour d’Argent in Paris, The Chester Grosvenor Hotel and the 2 Michelin starred Gidleigh Park, so Ladies will be learning from the very best.
