South West law firm Michelmores LLP has awarded Kelly Newman, a third-year student at Exeter University with its 2015 Land Law prize for achieving the best results in her year – Kelly scored an impressive 78/100.

The Firm has been awarding the Land Law prize to the student with the best performance on that course at Exeter University for over 20 years.

Kelly was presented with a certificate and a cheque for her achievement at a celebratory lunch at Michelmores' Exeter office – joined by Partner Joanna Damerell and Solicitor Holly Dobbins from the Real Estate team....

Michelmores LLP has seen its highest-ever number of rankings in this year's Legal 500 – which independently reviews the practices of more than 1,000 UK law firms, teams and individuals, and the work that they have undertaken over the last 12 months.

Exeter Wheelers Hill Climb Festival − 19 September 2015

There is still time to sign-up to The Exeter Wheelers Hill Climb Festival, a charity team cycling event taking place on Saturday 19 September − fundraising in aid of local charity the Exeter Deaf Academy.

Up to 100 cyclists are expected to take part in the event, which will see participants make a mad dash to the top of the city's Stoke Hill – approximately 1.2 miles long with an average gradient of 7%, and recently conquered by cycling champion Sir Bradley Wiggins.

South West law firm Michelmores LLP is seeking applications from local charities who would like to become their next Charity of the Year, starting January 2016.

Over the last two years Michelmores has raised over £50,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support through events such as the firm's annual 5K Charity Run, coffee mornings, a Charity Art Auction and many more.

The Exeter PA Network played host to over 50 personal assistants (PAs), secretaries and support staff at its latest career enhancing event 'Time to Shine' on Thursday 25 June.

Michelmores Run raises more than £25k

Nearly 1,000 people took part in the 16th Michelmores Charity Run on 11 June, raising over £25,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support – and beating last year's fundraising total.

The fastest male was Owen Walpole who ran the distance in just 16 minutes and 6 seconds − followed in second place by James Denne who finished in 16 minutes and 15 seconds. Third place went to Michelmores' Nathaniel Lane who covered the course in 16 minutes and 55 seconds.

The fastest woman was Cathy Newman with a time of 18 minutes and 32 seconds, followed by Emma Sharples who ran the distance...

Michelmores raises £650 for ELF

The Residential Property team at Michelmores took over the Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) shop in Crediton on the 9th June 2015. Raising funds by selling cakes, steaming clothes and dressing the store windows the team raised £650 in one day for the charity.

The Exeter Leukaemia Fund supports families affected by blood cancers and blood disorders across the South West by providing compassionate, tailored support in the Yarty ward at the RD&E where around 400 patients are treated each week.
