The Exeter PA Network played host to over 50 personal assistants (PAs), secretaries and support staff at its latest career enhancing event 'Time to Shine' on Thursday 25 June.

A fun, engaging and interactive talk from business coach and personal development consultant Judy Salmon was the highlight of the event held in the Rougemont Thistle hotel, in Exeter city centre.

Salmon led a session focusing on the importance of support staff taking pride in what they do and how their roles are the backbone of many of the city's businesses – even commenting that her own PA is her 'right hand man' and enables Salmon to be the best that she can be.

The event received excellent feedback, with Davina Dodge a PA currently studying with Pitman Training commenting:
"The network never disappoints in delivering great events with fantastic and inspiring speakers."

Michelle Weeks from Grant Thornton LLP added:
"Well done on yet another wonderful event. Judy was a hoot! As always I really enjoyed it and I’ve yet to come away from one of these events feeling anything other than inspired, motivated and on top of the world."

Kim Glover, PA to the managing partner at law firm Michelmores, and founder of the Exeter PA Network commented: "We launched the PA Network three years ago at the Rougemont Hotel, and it was great to be back at the hotel for this event. I am so proud of what the Network has delivered to the PA community in Exeter, in terms of the quality of events, speakers and topics.

"I believe that our content has been ahead of the curve and we’ve delivered training and development which many of our members might not have had the opportunity to receive through their employers, given the continuing restraint on training budgets for a lot of organisations. On top of this, I believe our members have benefited from a boost in confidence with the Network having raised the profile of support roles."

The next PA Network meeting is the monthly Business Breakfast, held at Hampton by Hilton, near Exeter Airport. The topic of this month's event, on the 16 July is ‘Pay it Forward’ with guest speaker Ann Skinner of Coach to Contribute.
