Nicholsons Expands into the South West
Nicholsons is pleased to announce the opening of its newest office near Exeter further strengthening its ability to support clients across the South West with specialist services in forestry, landscapes and ecology.
The new office will be led by Julian Burchby and will provide a local base from which Nicholsons can work closely with landowners, estates, businesses and organisations throughout Devon and the wider region.
The opening reflects Nicholsons' ongoing commitment to supporting clients across the South West, providing local access to the company's expertise in forestry, landscapes and ecology.
The Devon office will complement Nicholsons' existing operations, making it easier for clients to access practical, tailored advice on a wide range of land management and environmental projects.
Julian Burchby, Associate Director for Nicholsons in the South West, commented: "Joining the Nicholsons Team and helping to establish its new Devon office is hugely exciting for me.
"Having spent much of the last 25 years working in forestry across the West Country, I have developed a deep understanding of, and strong connection to, the region’s landscapes, heritage and, in particular, its forestry.
"The South West offers a unique combination of opportunities, from commercial forestry and significant areas of land suitable for woodland creation to rich and important habitats such as temperate rainforests and ancient woodlands.
"I’m looking forward to bringing my experience and knowledge of forestry in the region to Nicholsons, and to working with landowners to unlock the potential of their land through well planned, sustainable forestry and woodland management.
"The new office will give Nicholsons a local presence, which I find landowners really value."
Whether supporting woodland management and creation, landscape planning, habitat enhancement or environmental stewardship, Nicholsons offers a collaborative approach that draws on expertise from landscape architecture and garden design through to natural capital, arboriculture and forestry consultancy.
The office will operate on an appointment-only basis, ensuring clients receive dedicated time and specialist support tailored to their individual requirements.
Justin Mumford, Director of Forestry, Arboriculture and Ecology at Nicholsons said: "We're very excited about expanding Nicholsons’ professional forestry and environmental services into the South West, with Julian leading our new Devon office. We’re looking forward to offering something new to the area with professional high-quality forestry management, backed up by experienced contracting and a deep understanding of the environment and landscapes.”
