There will be a special evening of mediumship with mediums Peter Bancroft, Linda Bullock and Clare Corner, taking place at Exeter Spiritualist Church, York Road, Exeter, EX4 6PF raising monies for Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT). Exeter Spiritualist Church has adopted DAAT as its 'Charity of the Month' for September and to coincide with National Air Ambulance Week 2013.

Entry is just £3.50 per person. Tickets available on the door only.

Exmouth RNLI to host Jurassic Classic Mini Rally

For the third year running, Exmouth RNLI will be the hosts at the finish line of the Classic Jurassic Mini Club’s Mouth 2 Mouth rally on 15 September. The club plan to raise money towards Exmouth RNLI’s launch and recovery vehicle appeal.

Starting from Weymouth Pavilion in the morning, the enthusiasts will take a tour of Portland before heading along the scenic Jurassic Coast, westwards. Devon Wildlife Trust joins legacy campaign

Veteran journalist and newsreader, Angela Rippon, will be joining The Wildlife Trusts in support of this year’s Remember A Charity Week (Mon 9 – Sun 15 Sept 2013).

As one of 140 charities taking part in a series of events around the UK, The Wildlife Trusts are urging people making a Will to take a moment to consider including a gift to charity.

Devon Wildlife Trust is asking supporters to think about leaving a gift in their Will to help wildlife. The Trust’s Penny Mason said:

Celebrities launch BBC Children in Need 2013

Sir Terry Wogan, Matt Baker, Gary Barlow, Nick Grimshaw, Alex Jones, JLS and Union J have joined forces to kick start this year’s BBC Children in Need campaign.

They are calling on the Great British public to once again get fundraising to help raise millions for disadvantaged children and young people right here in the UK.

Solicitors raise funds for Help for Heroes

Help for Heroes is set to benefit from £2,456 raised by local legal firm Stephens Scown following fundraising over the last 12 months.

Fundraising events included cake bake sales, dress down days, quiz nights and a Wimbledon themed night. Robert Camp, Managing Partner of Stephens Scown, said: “Help for Heroes is our firm-wide charity which staff voted for and which we have been supporting for the last few years. We are delighted to be giving our time and efforts for such a positive cause that does so much for our servicemen and women.”

Exmouth RNLI volunteers prepare for Open Day

The biggest event on the Exmouth Lifeboat Fundraising Team’s calendar, the lifeboat station Open Day will take place on Sunday 18 August this year. Situated on Queens Drive, the event will be held between 10am and 4pm.

Dedicated volunteers are currently busy organising stalls, raffle prizes and making produce to sell in order to raise money towards the launch and recovery vehicle appeal. As the new Shannon-class lifeboat is due early next year, this will be an opportunity to raise a large chunk of the £90,000 remainder needed for the vehicle.

Exeter Leukaemia Fund would love to hear from anyone, whether new to ELF, current or previous supporters, who are interested in helping to form or be part of a new supporter group in Crediton and the surrounding areas. ELF currently has 3 groups based in Exmouth, Okehampton and Tiverton. The groups all play a vital part in the success of the charity. Exeter cancer charity calls for more runners

Organisers of the fourth Force/Francis Clark 10k Race at Powderham Castle have called for more runners to sign up for the annual event in a bid to break previous entry records and boost fundraising.

The event has grown considerably since the first race in 2010 and now features a 5k run and a 2k family run as well as 5k & 10k mountain bike rides around one of the most picturesque routes any runner or rider could wish for, taking in the Castle, the Exe Estuary, extensive woodland and the deer park.
