Art exhibition and first conference of people with no ‘mind’s eye’

The first ever exhibition of paintings and works of art created by artists who have no “mind’s eye” will cast new light on the creative brain when it goes comes to Exeter in March.

It combines with the first ever conference to bring together people at either extreme of the visual imagery spectrum.

Extreme Imagination: Inside the Mind’s Eye will feature works by people who have aphantasia, meaning they cannot visualise, alongside works by those who have particularly vivid mental imagery.

'Colours of the Wind' Flower Festival

The Crediton Parish Church Flower Festival is one of the main fundraising events for the upkeep of Holy Cross and many people from our parishes work to make it a very special and memorable week.

The 2019 Festival has the intriguing title ‘Colours of the Wind’ and runs from 10am on Saturday 1st June until 5pm on Thursday 6th June.

Work towards the 2019 Flower Festival began as soon as the 2018 Festival ended.

Rarely seen portraits of influential Devon women, including Nancy Astor, Eleanor Acland and Gertrude Acland, are on show at Killerton. Pioneering women from University of Exeter honoured in stunning new exhibition

Striking portraits of Dr Sarah Buck OBE and Dame Clare Marx, members of the University of Exeter’s Council, will feature as part of a stunning exhibition celebrating the achievements of some of the most pioneering women of the 21st century.

Exhibition highlights tales and imagery of life with dementia

A public exhibition will feature poems, cartoons and images created by well-known artists working with people with dementia.

The insightful works, part of a University of Exeter research project, will be on show during Dementia Action Week (May 21-27). It captures moments of difficulty, and also love, joy and laughter, showing the multifaceted experience of life with dementia.
