Teams can be nominated for ‘Lockdown Legends’

‘Lockdown Legends’ – the people of Devon who went that extra mile to help out during COVID-19 – are still being sought for a photographic exhibition in Exeter.

Nominations for the exhibition at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery close this Sunday (19 July), so don’t miss the chance to feature in this historic event.

Organisers have stressed that teams can be nominated. However because of the subject matter and social distancing, people are being asked to use just one person to represent the team in the nomination.

Relatives of men who fought in historic battle meet at exhibition

Three women whose relatives were involved in the Battle of the River Plate had a chance meeting at a recent exhibition.

The ladies - pictured above - were visiting an exhibition at Exeter Guildhall to mark the 80th Anniversary of HMS Exeter's involvement in the Battle of the River Plate in the South Atlantic during the Second World War.

Whilst watching a film as part of the exhibition they got talking. They soon realised that their relatives had been involved in the Battle.

THG kicks off 2020 by presenting exceptional work from the South West Academy of Fine & Applied Arts (SWAc) and an exciting programme of workshops and events.

The exhibition marks the start of the Academy’s 20th anniversary year and will feature work in a diverse range of media including paintings, sculpture, prints and photography.
