The world’s leading engineering minds explored the potential for a bridge to France and conducted decades of painstaking research to lay the groundwork for the Channel Tunnel, a fascinating new exhibition shows.

Members of the Channel Tunnel Study Group carried out detailed geological and economic studies into the feasibility of the “Chunnel” from the 1950’s onwards. Two dementia researchers are hosting Culture Box Live this month, an exhibition which aims to stimulate public interest in dementia.

Dr Chloe Asker, a Research Fellow in the School of Psychology, and Professor Victoria Tischler, Professor of Behavioural Science in the same School, will be presenting research findings and artist commissions from the Culture Box project, which supported people with dementia and their carers during the pandemic by providing creative and arts-based activities. Creative training for care staff and artists will also be available.

‘Toys of Innocence and Experience’ - the art show that WANTS visitors to play with its exhibits!

In this show toys are used as a vehicle for satire and social comment. Either by playing with them, or on close inspection, participants discover that these toys aren’t so innocent. Indeed, some of the twenty-five toys in the show might possibly be found to be disturbing, or even shocking. At the very least they cannot be described simply as sculptures. They are more like stimulators for the formation of thoughts - thoughts about society and the world we live in.

Fun A Day challenge triumphs with weekend-long exhibition at Positive Lights Projects in Exeter with 45 contributors

Forty-five people from all over Greater Exeter have exhibited their creative skills in the Fun A Day project, a community show at the Positive Lights Projects in the city centre.

The Fun A Day concept is simple: pick a project, do it every day throughout February and record it. Adults and children drew, painted, sewed, baked, photographed and wrote to complete the challenge, lifting spirits, celebrating life and bringing a little colour to the dog days of winter.

Public exhibition events on walking and cycling improvements in Exeter

Proposals for the draft Exeter Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) will be on show to the public for two days next week.

Detailed route plans will be available to view at a public exhibition which will be held in the Ante Chamber at County Hall in Exeter from 11am – 7pm on Wednesday 15 March and Thursday 16 March. It’s an opportunity for people to see the plans up close and speak to members of the project team.
