Devon award winners celebrate decade of success

With just a month to go until nominations for this year’s National Apprenticeship Awards competitions close (on 26 April 2013), current apprentices and employers across Devon are being encouraged to enter as the awards celebrate their 10th year.

The 2012 competition saw Devon employers David Youll and JTP Joinery of Paignton and Puffins of Exeter recognised in the awards.

On a national level the 2012 winners have seen significant benefits from taking part.

Curry chef Mohammed named best in Exeter and Teignbridge

Mohammed Syed Walid has been named Exeter and Teignbridge Curry Chef of the Year.

The curry chef from the Real India, South Street, Exeter, proved to hot for the other competitors in the contest held at Exeter College's @34 Restuarant.

Mohammed's nearest competitor was runner-up Rajender Singh Hatwel, of the Dana Pani Indian Cuisine, in Sidwell Street Exeter. Izzadur Rahman of Saffron, Newton Abbot, came third.

The competition was organised by Exeter City Council and Teignbridge District Council's Environmental Health teams, to promote food hygiene.

Exeter students to compete in 48-hour 'hackathon'

Students from the University of Exeter and across the South will take part in a 48-hour ‘hackathon’ this Friday.

SETsquared, a collaboration between the Universities of Bath, Bristol, Exeter, Southampton and Surrey, will host the South of England heat of the Microsoft Imagine Cup on Friday 15th February.

The Microsoft Imagine Cup is a student technology competition in which students from across the globe create their own apps for mobile, Windows or Azure in a bid to win a $50k prize at the finals in Russia.

Lord Mayor's Wedding Fayre & Fashion Show

A lucky couple is being given the chance to get married in an historic city centre venue for free!

New Faces of Princesshay are announced after glitzy VIP finale

The two winners of this year’s Face of Princesshay competition have been announced after a glamorous finale evening at Exeter’s Thistle hotel.
