Chudfest Garden and Produce Show Saturday 7 September, Town Hall.

Gardeners, allotment owners and cooks will be competing for a range of trophies at the fourth annual Garden and Produce Show at Chudleigh Town Hall this Saturday.

The show, which is being organised under the Chudfest banner, includes classes for Fruit and Vegetables; Flowers and Flower arranging; Jams and Preserves; Cakes and Pies.

There are also some classes reserved for children (under 12).

Grassroots cricket team, Stoke Hill Junior School, are asking for their local community to vote for them to win the prize of a lifetime, the chance to attend a training session with England cricket legends.

Snap to it - time for young animal lovers to get their cameras out

The RSPCA launched its annual competition for budding young snappers to showcase their best images of animals yesterday.

The Young Photographer Awards 2013 (YPA13) welcomes all kinds of pictures from cheeky portraits of family pets to imaginative photos of wildlife and even close-ups of insects in a mix of categories open to young people under 19.

The competition is sponsored by Warners Midlands, supported by Olympus and Natures Images, and judged by a mix of photography professionals including presenter and wildlife expert Chris Packham.

A Devon firm of solicitors is backing the prestigious South West Chef of the Year competition 2013.

South Devon law Firm WBW Solicitors, with offices in Torquay, will be sponsoring the award for Best Use of Local Produce in the significant annual event, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.

The great Exmouth RNLI lifeboat ‘cake bake’

Volunteers from the Exmouth Lifeboat Fundraising Team will be holding a cake bake sale on 26 May at the boathouse on Queen's Drive. The event will raise money towards the cost of the launch and recovery vehicle for the Shannon-class lifeboat due in 2014.

The charity’s team are inviting members of the public to join them putting the ‘fun’ into fundraising for this this exciting event, held during the bank holiday weekend.
