A Devon firm of solicitors is backing the prestigious South West Chef of the Year competition 2013.

South Devon law Firm WBW Solicitors, with offices in Torquay, will be sponsoring the award for Best Use of Local Produce in the significant annual event, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.

Staged by Michael Caines MBE and Taste of the West, it is a key event in the culinary calendar recognising the best cooking talent in the Westcountry and is judged by some of the finest chefs in the restaurant world.

Steve Bullman, managing partner at WBW Solicitors said: “We are proud to be backing this important event.  As a firm we pride ourselves in offering a high quality local service, particularly to the agricultural community.
“So it is fitting we are getting behind this awards category which celebrates the fantastic produce the South West has to offer.”

Shortlisted entrants will go head-to-head in semi-finals early in October with the winners going through to compete in the finals on Monday, October 28 followed by an awards ceremony in the evening.

Last year’s winner of the professional class was Sous Chef at Gidleigh Park Michael Tweedie.
