The Exeter office of Brewin Dolphin, one of the UK’s largest independently-owned private client wealth managers, arranged a very special day out on behalf of their charity of the year, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) to visit Exeter City Football Club.

Entries are now open for the UK’s craziest, most colourful sponsored 5k event for all the family – the Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) Rainbow Run at Exeter Racecourse on Sunday 8 June.

You can run it. You can walk it. You can even skip it.

However you choose to do it – the organisers guarantee you will cross the finishing line a vision of colour and wearing the biggest smile.

Police call for vigilance after attempted child abduction

Police are warning members of the public to be on the lookout for a man in a grey or white van who allegedly tried to pull a primary school girl into his van.

The young girl was able to break free and run for safety without being physically harmed.

A police spokesman said: “We’re treating this incident seriously and are actively searching for this man. This type of incident is rare but obviously it’s of concern.

“We don’t want parents to be unnecessarily alarmed, but it’s important that people are made aware, so they can be vigilant and keep an eye out for...

Crowdfunder.co.uk launch innovative project for Children’s Hospice South West

The team at Crowdfunder.co.uk are taking part in Children’s Hospice South West’s £50 Challenge with an aim to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

A number of businesses and organisations across the South West are taking part in the challenge to raise money for the charity. Crowdfunder have launched their own crowdfunding campaign with the initial £50 investment.

The crowdfunding project, titled the £50 challenge, will run for seven weeks and encourage people to support and place a pledge, in return for a reward.

An Art for Life charity auction takes place on Saturday 11 May 2013 at the Royal Clarence Hotel in Cathedral Yard, Exeter.

Santas furlong dash for Children’s Hospice South West

A one furlong festive fun run for Children’s Hospice South West will take place at Exeter Racecourse before its six-race card, which begins at 12.50pm on Thursday, 20th December. Anyone with a penchant for dressing up as Father Christmas and raising money for good causes is being urged to join in.

Free entry to the races, a Santa suit and a medal will be given to everyone who registers to run, jog or walk down the home straight for the charity, which offers care for children who have illnesses which mean they will dies before reaching adulthood.
