The team at Crowdfunder.co.uk are taking part in Children’s Hospice South West’s £50 Challenge with an aim to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

A number of businesses and organisations across the South West are taking part in the challenge to raise money for the charity. Crowdfunder have launched their own crowdfunding campaign with the initial £50 investment.

The crowdfunding project, titled the £50 challenge, will run for seven weeks and encourage people to support and place a pledge, in return for a reward.

The team who raises the most money will be honoured with The £50 Challenge Trophy from Children’s Hospice South West.

The challenge is supported by Deborah Meaden, Dragons’ Den investor, who said: “To be successful in this challenge [the teams] have to be innovative and have the confidence to re-invest. Start off small and grow your investment to turn a profit that will really make a difference to local life-limited children.

“It is easy when times get hard to just worry about business on a day-to-day basis and look inward. Engaging with the community is so important for companies to look outward and do some real good - and you will feel great about the business as a result.”

Rewards have been donated by a number of Cornish businesses including Got Game, Ticket to Ride Surf School and Harlyn Surf School, as well as from the Children’s Hospice South West themselves.

The Children’s Hospice South West have three hospices across Devon (Little Bridge House), Bristol (Charlton Farm) and Cornwall (Little Harbour).

Bernadette Chambers, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser for Children’s Hospice South West says: “We are delighted that Crowdfunder have taken on The £50 Challenge and made it their own with some exciting rewards. We look forward to keeping track of their progress and seeing the final amount that they raise."

Emily Smith, Crowdfunder, said: “It’s so exciting to be part of the £50 Challenge and be raising money via crowdfunding and have the support of Deborah Meaden. We hope people in the South West get behind this project and help us raise as much money as possible for the Children’s Hospice South West.”
