Love a good bargain? Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) has transformed its Paris Street shop into a new Clearance Shop with everything priced at just £2 or under!

With lots of items all reduced, it’s a great opportunity to grab a bargain whilst helping to support your local children’s hospice at the same time. Biking Santas make a sight for sore eyes!

There was a sight to see around Exeter on Sunday 4 December for those doing some Christmas shopping as motorbikers dressed as Santas, Mrs Santa, elves and a christmas tree went through the city in convoy, taking part in a festive ride with a difference!

The riders were on their way from their meeting place at Exeter Services to deliver Christmas toys and donations to youngsters with life-limiting illnesses at the Little Bridge South West Children’s Hospice in North Devon.

The Pavey Group’s ‘Donate & Do Good Day’ for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) was a resounding success.

The day was held in Exeter on Tuesday 25 October and the idea was, as many busy professionals don’t have time to take their unwanted items to charity shops, the team from Pavey Group would visit the businesses to pick up collections instead!

The nationwide shortage of nurses in children’s palliative care has been making the headlines of late with reports of the lack of nurses affecting the care available to children with life limiting conditions. Children’s Hospice South West is delighted that the recent Devon round of its £50 Challenge has raised £12,350.60 with winning team Graphic PLC, from Crediton, raising a fantastic £3700!

The Graphic PLC team was announced as winners at a special awards evening held at the Exeter offices of Old Mill Accountants, sponsors of this year’s challenge, and they said: ‘Graphic PLC is delighted to have won CHSW’s £50 Challenge, especially as it is the charity’s 25th Anniversary. Rainbow Run moves to Westpoint

Following the success of this year’s Children’s Hospice South West’s Exeter Rainbow Run, the charity is delighted to announce that the 2017 run will now take place at the Westpoint Arena!

Jayne Jarrett, events fundraiser at the hospice said: ‘We were overwhelmed with the local support for our 2016 run with nearly 1700 people taking part, and we’re so excited that we will be holding next year’s event at Westpoint Arena.

What an amazing Exeter Rainbow Run! With 1700 runners, steel drummers, Storm Troopers, Heart FM and bouncy castles, this year’s Children’s Hospice South West’s Rainbow Run was the best yet! As part of the 25th Anniversary celebrations for the charity, the run started with silver streamers and the record number of participants enjoyed a madcap, mayhem of riotous colour as they ran through the paint stations along the course. Samantha Cameron hosted a special reception at 10 Downing Street to celebrate 25 years of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW). Local business people jailed for charity

Nine well known members of the business community have been ‘jailed’ at Exeter Castle and have to raise a bail of £999 for Children’s Hospice South West in order to be released.

Each ‘prisoner’ has been charged with a fictitious crime and they will be held at the castle until they raise their bail money - but they only have a few hours to ensure they reach their bail targets.

With access to phone and Wi-Fi they are relying on friends, family, colleagues, suppliers and customers to make donations to their online donation pages.

With over 1,200 runners already signed up, this year’s Children’s Hospice South West Rainbow Run at Exeter Racecourse on June 11 is going to be the biggest ever!
