Described by none other than Sir Ian McKellen as 'uproariously funny', the HandleBards will be back on their bikes in 2015 for their most diverse season to date.

In May 2014, the HandleBards - four men on four bicycles - cycled out of London. Their mission? A 2000 mile tour across the UK, Holland and Belgium, carrying all the necessary set, props, costumes and camping equipment to perform two of Shakespeare's greatest plays - Macbeth and The Comedy of Errors - 72 times.

This event runs from 11.30 until 15.00. Please make your own arrangements for lunch (there will be a break in the middle of the session, and 10% discount will be offered in the Cathedral Café for those attending).

Lugets of Exeter, the city’s oldest gentlemen’s outfitters and tailors, has decided to close its doors for the final time next month. The store, located on Cathedral Yard, has confirmed that its last day of business will be Saturday 21st March 2015. The Cathedral's three resident organists perform with our choir of children and adults in celebration of the organ's 350th anniversary year.

Following an extensive restoration (completed at the end of 2014) the organ will be back in action, taking a solo role, together with providing the accompaniment for the Cathedral Choir.

This popular concert takes place in the candlelit nave of the Cathedral.

Celebrity Organ Recital: John Scott

John Scott is presently Organist and Director of Music at St Thomas Church, Fifth Avenue, New York (where he directs the renowned choir of men and boys) following a long association with St Paul’s Cathedral, where he was Organist and Director of Music from 1990 until 2004.

A highly regarded choir trainer, composer and arranger, John Scott is widely recognised around the world as one of the leading recitalists, so we are extremely proud to announce his performance here in Exeter, the first recital on the newly restored organ.
