Exeter Cathedral's professional choir returns for its popular seasonal concert, supported by Rathbones Investment Management.

Well-known carols and new works will be joined on the programme by some lighter Christmas items.

As usual there will be plenty of opportunities for the audience to join in with the 'old favourites'

The Skin Angels go on tour

​If you missed our last Skin Angels event, here's your chance to catch up on the action and see what you've missed! The Skin Angels of Purity Boutique Spa of Exeter will make an encore appearance on Cathedral Green on 20 July from 1pm-4pm. ​Carl Rimmer, Vice President of the Skin Angels and Exeter Chiefs star will be on the Green!

Brewin Dolphin host Summer Party in the Bishop’s Palace Gardens, Exeter Cathedral

Over 200 guests joined Brewin Dolphin Exeter at their annual ‘Summer Garden Party’ held at The Bishop’s Palace Gardens, Exeter Cathedral. Representatives from their Charity of the Year, Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education, attended together with clients, professional associates and Exeter Chief players.

The guests were welcomed with a Pimms and champagne reception and musical entertainment was provided by Exeter University’s string quartet.

Art for Life charity auction

An Art for Life charity auction takes place on Saturday 11 May 2013 at the Royal Clarence Hotel in Cathedral Yard, Exeter.

The event is set to take place from 10.30am-12.30pm and will display a vast amount of artwork by South West academicians and other established British artists including works by Ken Howard RA OBE, Rose Hilton ARCA, Peter Brown NEAC and many more.

The paintings have been donated to the auction, which will be conducted by Robin Barlow, in order to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West. This fantastic charity cares for children with a limited life...

Exeter's church leaders to show off their baking skills

As part of a national charity campaign Exeter’s church leaders are battling to show off their baking skills.

The contestants will be baking their best bread under the watchful eye of the BBC’s Judi Spiers and local baker Emma Parkin of Emma’s Bread, a finalist in the 2012 Devon Life Awards.

Bishop Michael of Exeter, Methodist District Chair Rev Peter Pillinger, Canon Rev Ian Morter of Exeter Cathedral and Southernhay URC Elder Sabrina Groeschel will bring their best recipes to the Cathedral Green at 3.30pm on Monday 11 March for an outside bread bake off.

Gigapixel Panorama over the city of Exeter

Photographer Peter Stephens has created a large panoramic photograph of Exeter which enables you to zoom up close to features within the image. The photograph was taken from the top of the Barley Valley Nature Reserve on the west side of Exeter. You can zoom right up to buildings including Exeter Cathedral, the College and University, John Lewis, and the new waste to energy incinerator.

The image is a composite made up from a number of photographs taken with a telephoto lens and stitched together into one large panoramic image.

Bishop of Exeter announces his retirement

The Rt Revd Michael Langrish, Bishop of Exeter, announced today (Sunday 6th January) that he will retire this year.

Bishop Michael has served as Bishop of Exeter since 2000 and has been a priest for 40 years. His will be 67 this summer. His last service will be in Exeter Cathedral on 29th June.
