Internet sharing peaks at 2.36 pm on a Monday

It's 2.36pm on a Monday and the weekend is already a distant memory.

As the long week ahead looms, people take to the computers in their thousands... to post funny pictures or videos.

A survey by mobile network Three indicates that internet sharing peaks at this precise time for Brits who 'wish it was still the weekend' and try instead to reconnect with friends.

The majority of Brits - 51 percent - admit they do so most when at work, 'because we want to communicate with friends working elsewhere during the day'.

The top reason for sharing is to make people...

Baxter singles Steenson out for praise

Irishman Gareth Steenson was singled out for praise by Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter after he produced a man-of-the-match display to help his side to a 27-16 victory at Aviva Premiership champions Harlequins. The 28-year-old fly-half was chief tormentor for the Devon club at the Twickenham Stoop as his 17-point haul went alongside second half touchdowns from Damian Welch and Luke Arscott. Exeter’s victory, their second in as many weeks, not only ensured they maintained their hopes of being amongst the division’s top six, but also enabled them to claim a league double over Conor O’...

Exeter City ran out winners in emphatic 3-0 victory over fellow promotion rivals Northampton Town, leapfrogging the Cobblers in the league table in the process.

The Grecians gave the visitors a taste of their own medicine with the opener coming from a corner, which goalkeeper Lee Nicholls could only poke into his own net.

Matt Oakley was once again provider from a dead-ball for City’s second after the break, as he delivered a fine cross for Jamie Cureton to head in his 20th of the campaign. And a first goal in red and white for Jake Gosling after a jinking solo run put the...

Exeter Chiefs handed out their own spot of capital punishment as they became the first team this season to record a league double over reigning Aviva Premiership champions Harlequins. Having humbled Conor O’Shea’s side 42-28 at Sandy Park back in October, the Chiefs repeated the feat at the Twickenham Stoop thanks in the main to an inspired display from fly-half Gareth Steenson. The Ulsterman was simply scintillating all afternoon, spearheading a Chiefs game plan that their rivals simply could not contain. Not only did he plunder 17 crucial points with the boot, but he was involved in much...

Budleigh shave victory over Crediton in battle of the Robins

CREDITON UNITED 0-1 BUDLEIGH SALTERTON

Thanks to a splendid performance and goal from George Pannell it was Budleigh Salterton that grabbed all three points at Lords Meadow this afternoon in the South West Peninsular Division One East.

This amazingly was Crediton's first home tie since 10 November last year, due to awful weather over the winter. The pitch was decent enough today though, and despite the standalone goal it was a lively match that prevailed.

The Robins from the South West coast took the lead over their mid-Devon counterparts in the 11th minute thanks...
