Over 60 independent business owners and retail chain managers attended an event at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum on Thursday 30th April, to learn about a proposed Business Improvement District for Exeter.

Exeter secures AstraZeneca partnership

The University of Exeter has announced a unique collaboration with the pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca, to conduct research into the effectiveness and safety of cutting-edge drugs.

The new partnership is hoped to reinforce Exeter’s burgeoning reputation as a world-leader in (eco) toxicological research as well as provide a significant boost for the South West economy, by securing a number of highly-skilled jobs on the University’s Streatham Campus and keeping valuable scientific knowledge within the region.

The partnership between the MS Society and Land Securities, who jointly own Princesshay together with The Crown Estate, has raised more than £7,500.

Exeter Chiefs gear up for The Big Walk 2014

Exeter Chiefs are throwing their sizeable weight behind the forthcoming ‘Exeter Foundation Charity Walk’ which has been set up to support a minimum of 20 local charities and organisations. Exeter City releases seven players

Exeter City have released details of the retain list following the completion of the 2013/14 campaign.

Sam Parkin, John O’Flynn, Alan Gow, Elliott Chamberlain, Jacob Jagger Cane and Jacob Wannell have not been offered new contracts with the club. This is in addition to Artur Krysiak, whose release was announced on Thursday morning.

Michelmores' strong year end results

Michelmores has announced its unaudited financial results, posting a 15% increase in turnover to £26 million for the financial year ending April 2014. Profits are also predicted to show growth in line with increased turnover.
