New wine and music festival announced

Tickets are selling fast for the Devon Wine and Music Festival with Exeter singer/songwriter Adam Isaac headlining the September event.

As well as local bands playing there will be dozens of Devon wines to taste from six vineyards and great food from local suppliers and local crafts.

Pebblebed is hosting the event at their vineyard in Clyst St George, near Exeter, on September 13/14. Adam Isaac, who made it through to the quarter final stages of BBC's The Voice, with Sir Tom Jones as coach, will be opening the event. The event is raising funds for local charity Hospiscare...

On 21 December 2013 a team of young musicians gathered in London to record a charity single which will raise funds for Jack, a little boy who spent his first Christmas without his dad, Fusilier Lee Rigby, who was tragically murdered outside Woolwich Barracks on 22 May 2013.

The team, lead by Outside the Box charity events promoter, Gary Gardner and producer Richard Digby Smith features some of the most talented young musicians in the UK. They collaborated over 24 hours to record the song ‘Miss You Machine’.

Local singer songwriter Charlotte Ward, who supported X Factor finalist Luke Friend and The Voice quarter finalist Adam Issac last Friday night at the Exeter Phoenix, gets her own shot at making talent show history tomorrow.

Charlotte is travelling to Birmingham National Exhibition Centre to compete in the national finals of the prestigious talent show Open Mic UK.

Described at “one of the toughest competitions in the country” it has been previously been the launch pad for artists such as Birdy, Lucy Spraggan and Hattie Keane.

Sponsored Sleepover Raises £23,000 for Exeter's YMCA

A sponsored sleep out in Exeter city centre on Saturday night raised over £23,000 for Exeter YMCA’s work with local homeless young people.

180 people took part in the sleep out, called ‘Sleep Easy’, battling against lows of three degrees Celsius and torrential rain. Participants included six members from the Gilbert Stephens Young Professional Network who raised over £1,000 for the charity. Gilbert Stephens were also the main sponsors of the event.

Exeter's star of hit show The Voice is preparing to play a special gig in his home town this weekend.

Adam Isaac launches his debut album at Exeter's Phoenix Theatre on Saturday.

The singer-songwriter, will then embark on a tour which will take in gigs in Bristol, Southampton, Leicester and London.
